Combat Scenario Example (Light version passed by feet)

Real game "Fußgänger" in Berlin (Germany)

Game authors: air (es@en.cx), DDR (ddr@en.cx)

Level 1

Task:

The first game code is written right here on the Pariser Platz – on the pole with the “Pariser Platz” sign.

The code is a writing that contains several numbers or letters, usually starting with EN, if otherwise not stated in the task description (e.g. ENCODE).
You have to enter the answer into the entry field (right below the level description), and in case it matches, you receive the task for the next level.

Good luck!

Codes:

ENKOT

Comments:
The first code was written on a sticker that was stuck to the pole (any marking, stencils or graffiti painting is prohibited on monuments!) 100 meters from the meeting point. It looked like this:

There was a duplicate to this code 2 m away from the first one, and it looked like this:

(the Brandenburg Gate on the background)

A code has been found by players and successfully entered on the website:

Level 2

Task:

Move on to the Holocaust memorial (it is one block from here):

At the corner of Cora-Berliner and Hannah-Arendt streets you’ll find a black plate on the pavement in front of the Holocaust memorial:

Step on the black plate, make three steps forward and make a move (each move after passing one block)…

Comments:
The level basically reminds of finding path through the maze, the Holocaust memorial looks like a maze. Even though the memorial has a negative background, it is not just a memorial in Berlin. It is a very good meeting spot and lots of people walk and spend some time off there. So holding a level there did not break any moral principles of German society.

This is how it all happened:

A fragment of the memorial:

Level 3

Task:

There’s a blue symbol of Berlin next to one of the houses on the Lenne street on the way to the Sony Centre. There are several banknotes shown on this symbol. You have to count the total amount these banknotes make up.
The answer should look like this: 342 euro

Hints:

Look for the blue bear sculpture on the Lenne street and count the amount of all Euros on it.

Codes:

895 euro

Comments:
Bear is the symbol of Berlin and there are lots of various bears in the city. Among all those bears the players were supposed to find the right one with Euro banknotes on it:

After completing the level you can take a picture with the Euro-bear:

Level 4

Task:

There are several cafés in the courtyard of the Sony Centre building. Our agent is expecting you at one of the tables there. He/she will give you the code you should use to transfer to the next level, if you ask him the following question: “Have you seen a rabbit around?” and show a 3 items purchase receipt from a store or a café that totals exactly 4.50 euro.

Hints:

The agent is a girl who has a hat that corresponds your searches.

Codes:

ENRABIT

Comments:
It might seem easy: just buy three items and find a rabbit. But finding 3 items for 4.50 euro at the Sony Centre is not a very simple task. And looking for a rabbit among hundreds of café customers is quite a mission. Even if you don’t see the rabbit, it is still there. See how cute our rabbit is:

Here’s a lucky end of searching:

The Sony Centre’s ceiling:

Level 5

Task:

Walk further from the Sony Centre down the Tiergarten street until you reach the old Tiergarten park (on the right). There is an island within the park area close to the Tiergarten street. There is a monument dedicated to Prussian queen Louise. To get the code you have to multiply the number of heads of the sculptures at this monument by the number that is the year of the fall of Berlin wall.
The answer should look like this:72560

Hints:

You need this monument.

Codes:

35802

Comments:
The task is not too complicated but interesting. The old park area with the queen’s monument is very old and the monument itself was created the century before last.

The organizers counted the number of sculpture heads and mark this number in the scenario:

Level 6

Task:

There is a big tree numbered 45 not far from the Louise monument. Move north towards Straße des 17. Juni to find it. Near the tree you’ll find a fallen tree. The code for transfer to the next level is written on it. The Louise monument is turned in the fallen tree’s direction. It is 300-400 meters away from the monument.

Code begins with EN.

Hints:

Walk from the island and use the pathway that the monument is turned to. Walk forward until you reach the third bench on your way and turn right. Then walk 150-200 meters and you’ll find the object you’re looking for.

Codes:

ENTRI

Comments:
The Tiergarten garden is full of trees, but 99.9% of them are placed vertically and only the rare ones – horizontally. One of these rare ones was used for the game. We didn’t get the image of the tree, but there is a picture of the code. It was actually written inside the tree but can only be seen through a crack in the tree from the side:

Level 7

Task:

There is a fence enclosed area in the Tiergarten park (across Straße des 17. Juni) in close proximity to the corner of Scheidemann and Yitzhak-Rabin streets. It’s easy to get there, the fence is flattened down to the ground it several spots. Having crossed the fence, you’ll see several piles of sand. Seek for small white metallic flags. There are artifacts under each flag. You have to dig only one!

The code begins with EN.

Hints:

Under the metallic flag you’ll find a glass jar full of peas. Search for the code written on a pea.

Codes:

ENK

Comments:
You don’t usually find piles of sand in the centre of the city 200 meters away from the Reichstag. Especially when no one else can see them through thick thorny bushes. But we’ve found them and managed to organize 2 levels at the place. The first was to find the piles with the flags and dig the jars, and secondly, find the pea with the code inside the jar. See the pictures and you’ll understand what happened.

You can see the pea with the code in the middle of the jar:

Organizers digging jars into the ground and marking them with flags:

And here are the participants trying to complete the level:

Level 8

Codes:

ENPTP

Comments:
The hive is at the same place where the teams found the piles of sand. The biggest difficulty is to be careful and brave enough to look at the code under the hive. Although, it seems that the organizers were more frightened by bees than the game participants, who were full of adrenaline.

Here are the organizers sneaking to the hive to stick the paper with the code:

And here are fearless players reading it:

Level 9

Task:

This level code can be found below one of the lamps in the passage system under the Victory column on the Große Stern square. The code is in the square brackets, so it’ll be easier to find among numerous writings on the wall. The brackets are not the part of the code.

Hints:

Seek for the right lamp in the western passage (the one that’s most distant from the Brandenburg Gate).

Codes:

ENTER

Level 10

Task:

Move north-west from the square down the Altonaer street, and you’ll see a children’s playground there. In order to obtain the final code, follow the instructions from the organizers waiting for you on the playground.

Codes:

ENFFNN

Comments:
The last level was performed on the playground. The players were supposed to find any of the four final codes. Then the teams could rest and chat, share their impressions of the game and congratulate the winners:
